Pork Ribs with Salted Black Beans(Rice Cooker)

Such a great recipe that you can make pork ribs and rice at the same time!

Step 1

Marinate Pork

First, clean up 1 lbs of pork spare ribs by rinsing them under running water, then soak up excess water.

Marinate for about 10 mins with below ingredients:
- 1 tbsp of light soy sauce
- 2 tbsp of salted black beans (https://www.amazon.com/Fermented-Black-Beans-Dry-resealable/dp/B01EM78YPO/)
- 1 tbsp of garlic
- 1/2 tsp of salt

Cook Rice

When we're marinating the pork, let’s put some rice in the pot. Here I added about 1 cup that should be enough for about 2 people.

Go wash the rice for about 2 times. Add some water, I like my rice soft and moist but not too wet or dry. So I like to use my fingertip to measure, it’s about 1 inch.

Next step is to put it into the rice cooker, close the lid, and set it on white rice mode. Let the water boil.

Cook Pork Ribs

Line the steam rack with aluminum foil, gently press it down. Be careful, don’t poke it. To be safe, you can line it with two layers. Tear the extra aluminum foil off at the edge.

Now the rice should be boiling slowly, put ribs into the rice cooker and close the lid.

Just to wait until it beeps and let it set for 5 minutes.
